The EVO Triangle’s name comes from the writers over at the EVO Magazine. This route is what the writers use to test drive the cars for magazine features. The route has become very popular among driving enthusiasts, and seems to be one of the most talked about routes in the UK. The route starts on the A543 (just off the A5) heading North along tight sweeping bends and great scenery. You will then turn right onto the B4501 which takes you on some nice long sweeping bends with views of the Llyn Brenig Lake. This road then leads back to the A5 (going through the village of Cerrigydrudion) and back to where you started.

This was another road I had to experience on my driving holiday.
Theres a saying “that your can’t be a real petrol head until you’ve owned an Alfa Romeo”, I’d add to that and say you can’t be a true petrol head until you’ve owned an Alfa and driven this road.
In a word amazing!
I would of gladly stuck a video recorder onto the front of the bonnet to give you an idea of what this road offers. Tight corners, long and short straights, great views and a sore bottom if you hit the compressions a little to quick.
We stayed at the Y Giler Arms for the night and it was a nice little place. Good food, decent rooms and a great view.
If you get a chance drive it!!!
This one was the first of the day after breakfast on top of the Horse Shoe Pass on 20/11/11. I can see why Evo use this road for pictures etc etc. I would say points A to B are the best but all is a great drive. Esp on a nice bright, dry Novembers morn.
