This is a great drive which covers all types of roads. The Snowdonia backdrop is second to nothing, and makes it a must do drive! There are nice twisty roads leading around the hills and lakes.

I drove this route over the easter holiday and I have to say the road from Capel Curig through Llanberis was brilliant, but the return journey on the opposite side of Snowdonia was a bit of a let down. Too many small hamlets, villages and very narrow roads made it impossible to really let loose and experience what was on offer.
If you want views then its definatly one i’d reccomend.
I caught it on a nice sunny day in May and was the best piece of road I’ve been in… did also catch the black mountain pass on the way to snowdonia, but the view of snowdon and the driving pleasure through that in a quattro was truly fantastic.
Mind you, the rear wheel 325i couldn’t keep up
Drove this just before lunch on 28/11/11, very quiet all the way around and enjoyable.
